Happy happy! Joy, joy! According to

, within 3 years, people could be testing their blood sugar regularly and painlessly in the convenience of a department store or pharmacy just like they do their blood pressure. Nope, this isn't a scary "stick-your-finger-here" deal, but rather a measurement taken from your tears after a chemically induced cry.
I've been amazed how since I've given my own health (in general, and blood sugar in particular) more attention, how many people have talked to me wondering what was going on with them. So few people know the difference between diabetes (hyperglycemia, which is too high) and hypoglycemia (which is too low), let alone the different types of each disease (i.e., non-insulin vs. insulin dependant diabetes, or Type 1).
I'm hardly the poster-boy for taking good care of one's self, but it's a new path I'm on that seems to be working. Next up, I'm working on my new doctor-approved meal plan and exercise plan.
In any case, I think making blood sugar testing more available to the general public can only be a good thing.
Later.
