OK, who loves Anthony Reyes?
Meeeeeeeee!
Dude was awesome tonight.
He could make Chris Carpenter going on the DL a little easier to swallow. (Too bad he couldn't get the win.)
Later.

Well, this weekend (Friday), I went with some friends to the opening of X-Men 3: The Final Stand. Note, if you don't want to know any of the movie, I have some minor movie spoilers below. Be warned, not that I think it really matters.
I've been a long-time fan of the X-Men series and I loved the first 2 feature length movies. I adored the old television cartoons and read quite a few of the comics as a kid. Given that each previous movie had superb special effects, introduced great and true-to-story characters, and "plots" that were very much in-line with...

Not that I have delusions that Barry Bonds would read my little ole' blog, but I've been pondering what could come of the Career Home Runs record currently held by Hank Aaron (755) - and threatened to topple, probably next year, by Bonds.
Popular (and my) opinion are that Bonds is a liar and a cheater for taking steroids while playing baseball. Any other conclusion is ridiculous. Supporting Bonds (as his home town blindly does) is, in my opinion just short of condoning what he's done.
Bonds has had opportunities to take whatever higher roads were available to him, be an upstanding citizen, a man...
...no, not Defense.
...no, not Dallas, either.
This "D" is "Divorce". Don't worry (Mom). I'm not going through one myself - that I know of. :)
I recently heard a sermon that gave me pause. I've heard countless (and sometimes worthless) messages on the Biblical reasons for divorce and the like. But the latest rendition left my wife and I talking for quite some time that afternoon.
Now, my regular readers probably know by now that I'm really not interested in your opinion if it's not backed up with Biblical principles. I can get all the unsubstantiated opinions I want from any number of religious organizations and...
OK, sure. I know some of my (few) regular readers WILL NOT be thrilled about this post, and I typically have stayed away from a lot of sports postings, but...
I'm about to go CRAZY over St. Louis Cardinals baseball these days... Let me itemize:
It seems we can pummel teams that generally suck. We have no trouble with the Phillies, Pirates and the like... But against teams that can ACTUALLY play baseball (and have the W-L records to prove it), we can't muster even a decent resistance to them.
Jason Isringhausen drives me absolutely nuts. I know, he's a premiere closer according...
I've been considering pursuing some higher education of the Bible-based variety for a while now and I'm finally to the point where I'd like people's opinions on what schools they would recommend.
I'm in St. Louis, MO, so the institution would either have to be local or provide remote learning services.
Beyond that, each school seems to have a number of specialized degree programs, so if you have opinions on a "track" to pursue, that would be helpful too. Barring any other guidance, I'll probably just start with a basic program that COULD wind up at a M.Div. or similar credential, if...
Hey...another thing I've wanted to change is the title of this site. Sure, my name has all sorts of unspeakable glamour, glitz, and star-power, but it doesn't say anything about what the site is about.
To that end, if you've read my "About me" link (which is currently unavailable until my rebuild is done), you'll know that I believe in a concept a former pastor of mine told me - there is a razor's edge in being "in the world, but not of it".
That razor's edge and being "in and not of" applies to my whole life. It affects how I...
Yay! I've updated my blog engine from .Text to SubText after a bit of persuasion and convincing on SubText's part.
In any case, no doubt you've noticed that the look-and-feel is different. Well, don't get too attached. It WILL change, since I don't like this skin, but I've not found one I really like. So, I'll probably build my own, starting with one of the skins I DO like... I do wonder how hard it would be to "retro-fit" my old site skin to this engine (since SubText is a fork of .Text), but it may be time for a change...
