Busy few days...

Whew!  The days surrounding Memorial Day weekend sure had a whirlwind of activity... Thursday held some big news with a company I had interviewed with previously.  They wanted to meet me in person suddenly.  Apparently, the individual selected didn't work out - in a BIG way.  So, they asked me to come in for a visit.  Um, Friday! So, Friday held an interesting talk with the interviewing team.  They're a nice bunch.  Straight-shooters, much like myself.  Have fun, relax, but cut all crap and get the job done.  Cool wth me.  They said they'd make a decision/selection by Tuesday.  We'll have to wait...

Memorial Day - Good Men & THE God-Man

You know, I really love Memorial Day Weekend. Sure, there are the patriotic sounds, music, movies, and marathons.  Sure, there are festivals, food, fun, and a day off.  But that's not really what I love about Memorial Day.  Memorial Day isn't Memorial Day in front of a TV watching baseball or barbecuing, to me.  Memorial Day is a "church day".  There's no place I'd rather celebrate Memorial Day than in church. Finally, a video camera that weighs less than my children...

For about 5 years, we've had a full-VHS sized video camera.  This thing was a RCA model and the last of the breed, as far as I can tell.  It was one of the beauties that would rest on your shoulder as you used it, which was good, since it was enormous and hard to balance any other way. In addition, it's recommended to not lift the thing while under the influence of medicines or alcohol.  You must be over 110 lbs and *this* tall to use it.  While it was very convenient to be able to pop the tape directly into the VCR,...

I look left...

It's no secret to most folks that know me that I have to look left (politically speaking) to see just about anyone.  Sure, Rush Limbaugh and others get much of their glory and fame for being “conservative”, but that's largely just on political/governmental issues.  On social, moral and religious issues, most popular “conservatives” doesn't come close to anything reasonably Biblical (whatever “reasonably Biblical” means). Am I some non-thinking, fanatical wierdo that only believes that: 1.) if it's fun, it must be wrong, and 2.) I believe soemthing because someone else told me so?  Absolutly not.  I believe some things differently than my parents and my childhood church...
