Hmmm... well, I guess I need to find a new supplier, because whatever I was smoking when I tried fixing the stats, apparently wasn't good stuff. (Kidding!)
Now that I look at the blog again, they're working. Whatever.
I'd research it, but I'm tired and really don't care right now... :) So, if anyone knows, drop me a line.
Blog Stats not working...
...and I even tried the fix that Scott posted on the .Text site...
Grrrrrr
Happy Birthday to Me,
Happy Birthday to Me,
Happy Birthday to Me-ee
Happy Birthday to Me!
Well, I had to go to Lomira, WI (about 1.5 hours NW of MKE) last Thursday and Friday for business. Thursday night, I went to dinner at a place a coworker recommended after he found it while exploring a neighboring town, Fon du Lac. Fusion Cafe was a completely unexpected treat. It is totally a hip, progressive, classy restaurant in the middle of a little town in Dairyland, USA.
While I don't completely understand how it got to Fon du Lac, I'm glad it's there. It's an exotic, fresh place that obviously has a specific impression it's trying to make. The...
Wow. I've been working with the IBuySpy (IBS) clone DotNetNuke (DNN). Man, it is awesome. I can hardly believe how easy it was to setup (the only problems were ID10T errors) compared to how stinkin' much the silly thing does.
Now, I've just started using it, but I'm floored by this application's array of offerings. A user can build a VERY complete system completely with the application-native tools. All you do is supply the layout, content, and pretty graphics. There are also independant individuals that have written components to add in.
I'm very close to deciding to build and release a new...
Whew. I took 2 days off from work and spent Thursday through Sunday on a retreat weekend with my praise team group from our church.
While it's the first days off I've had in a while, I'm totally exhausted. It's not unexpected, as this is my third time on this retreat, but unfortunate, nonetheless.
That said, it was AWESOME. Roger Breland (Mr. Breland to anyone besides his wife, I'm sure) visited us. Mr. Breland was the founder of the contemporary christian music juggernaut TRUTH. For 31 years, this man took vocally talented individuals, and made them an excellent team that happens to sing. ...
Unions. It's a topic that divides people just like religion, politics, or whether the toilet paper should hang from the front or back.
I'm not anti-Union. I know that unions have their place and for many years served to protect workers from horrible working conditions, paupers wages, and general mistreatment. Unions were the only reasons these issues improved. Unions protected the “every-man” because those in power would otherwise abuse them.
That was quite a while ago, however. Today, in the U.S., I see little need for unions. I think non-industrialized countries could stand to benefit quite a lot from the power of unions. However,...
You know, I saw something tonight that DIDN'T make me as nauseous as I suspected it would. The Chicago Cubs won their series and are heading to the NLCS. Odd. I saw the Cubs win a playoff series for the first time in almost 100 years. Millions of people have died not seeing that. Millions of people have had complete lifetimes in that timespan.
I'm all about the underdog this year in baseball. I think I'm glad to see the Small Bears win because of who they beat (the Atlanta Braves) as much as the fact that the “Loveable Losers” finally...
Whew! Well, I went and played paintball today with some co-workers. What a blast! Granted, I'm a big, slow, less-than-agile white guy, but I did pretty well. It must be that rural upbringing that put a innate ability to shoot things, get dirty, and love it...
In reality, it also opened my eyes a bit. I realize that I lead a bit of a sheltered life if that I rarely socialize outside of my “normal circle”. I spend 95% of my days around either professionals or church-goers (if not Christians) - some of each group are part of the other to...
Well, someone's done it! They've blown the cover on Microsoft's insistence that all information coming out of them has to be as complicated and un-user friendly as possible.
Robert McLaws, President and Chief Software Architect of Interscape Technologies, Inc has launched a new website/tool called PatchDayReview.com. He skillfully takes the patches Microsoft releases (every Wednesday), summarizes them, makes the download link easily accessible, and publishes the information to his own .Text application (the same tool this blog site uses).
This is easily one of the best services that the home user and IT Pro alike can use - and it's FREE!
They also have a RSS...
